Your privacy is critically important to us

Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of this information. Learning who you are and how you rely on this site helps keep our site fresh, meaningful and adaptive to your specific needs.

We will never sell or disclose your name, e-mail or other personal information to any third party, ever.

In that spirit, we'd like to take this opportunity to explain why RoutingGuides.com collects information on our users, and how this implicit data (e.g. a user's IP address, browser version or site behavior) makes it easier and more rewarding for you to use our services. We feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of any information on our site. 

The two kinds of information we collect are 1) data that you provide through optional, voluntary registration, contests and sweepstakes; and 2) data RoutingGuides.com gathers through aggregated tracking information derived mainly by totaling page views throughout the site.

What we do with your information

We collect contact information off the registration form and from our promotions pages (e.g. your name and/or e-mail address).   Your email address will be used as your user identification within the site and will be displayed when you send notifications and alerts to other  registered and unregistered users; you may not use the service to send spam. We do not use the email addresses you enter for any purpose other than to send your email. We do not rent or sell these email addresses. Indeed, we generally discard the email addresses at some point after they have been used to send your email.

We use your IP address to:

  • help diagnose problems with our server

  • administer our web site, and to

  • gather broad demographic information that will help us provide even more value to our members 

We use cookies to:

  • keep track of your activities, so you'll never be bothered by repeated queries to type in your address, phone number, etc.

  • personalize the site so that it's your site; delivering only the information, news and marketplace activity important to you

We maintain special relationships with several business and alliance partners. However, none of the participating web sites collect information on our users, nor do they have access to this information.

We provide links to other sites but cannot be responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those web sites.  If you believe that any of these sites have compromised your privacy, please let us know.

We have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction of the information under our control, including:

  • profile maintenance

  • secured password entry to the systems, and a

  • Constant penetration tests to prevent hacking
