Welcome
Dear Vendor or Carrier Partner:
Welcome to Ingram Micro’s North American Routing Guide, Fall 2009
Edition.
This edition of our routing guide provides some clarification on
existing requirements, and also contains instructions on a few new
policies. In addition, contact information for our carriers and
Ingram Micro contacts have been updated as well as links to
important external sites.
Updates to the routing guide are primarily related to the following:
- Clarification on Direct to Customer
shipment requirements
- New requirement and Non-compliance
schedule added for shipments which ship prior to the date
requested on our purchase order
- Updates to domestic Canada truckload
routing
- Imports to US and Canada requirements
clarified
- Receiving hours and contact information
updated
- Content added to differentiate between
freight billed via “Collect” and “3RD Party” terms
Ingram Micro is constantly looking at ways to
improve the way we do business with and for all of our partners. The
changes in this routing guide and in our procedures are with the
goal of facilitating efficiency across the entire channel, from your
manufacturing plants to our distribution network and on through to
the solution providers and end-users around the world.
In this environment of increasing reliance on
data to drive supply chain efficiencies, Ingram Micro will be
increasing its focus on the inbound logistics data referenced in
this guide. Vendors and carriers should expect increased focus on
data quality, timeliness, and compliance to specification. Effective
on shipments beginning January 4, 2010 Ingram Micro will begin
enforcing our requirements for Bill of Lading completion and small
parcel manifesting with non compliance charges.
Ingram Micro will continue to make ongoing
enhancements to this guide and the date of the most recent update is
reflected on this home page
Again, please take time to review the guide thoroughly. If you have
any question, please contact your Ingram Micro Vendor Business
Manager or send on email to Andrew Burke in our Logistics and
Transportation Department.
Sincerely,

Jeffrey
N. Johnson
Vice
President Logistics & Transportation
*Failure to comply with the
